Gayner Smith

Gayner Smith is a Director and has worked at the firm for over 30 years. In her role, she looks after a large portfolio of mainly family businesses, with particular focus on those in the farming, construction, land and property, and motoring sectors.
Initially an audit and accountancy specialist, over the years Gayner has added business planning, company sales and acquisitions, and Inheritance Tax planning to her experienced skills base.
Gayner has a passion for client service and meeting clients’ needs; as such, she is always keen to help with any query or issue her clients may encounter.
Gayner takes pride in her caring and personal service to all of her clients, taking great interest in their progress and growth. Her overarching goals have always been to help others achieve their aims.
Aside from her role supporting clients, Gayner heads up our charity and volunteering committees. She also instigated the setup of our charity fund via Essex Community Foundation, which enables us to donate money raised throughout the year to charities including Headway Essex, City of Chelmsford Mencap and Samaritans.
Outside of the office, Gayner enjoys working for several charities (in particular, collecting for Marie Curie and acting as trustee and treasurer for an anti-human trafficking charity), spending time with her family and playing badminton.
Gayner is a Fellow member of ICAEW (the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales).
