Family Business United, the organisation that champions the family business sector, has launched a bespoke Family Business hub to focus on the needs of family firms in Essex in conjunction with Rickard Luckin.

The new hub will provide a focal point for the family business community in Essex with all the latest news and insights collated in one place. In addition, following on from the research that identified the oldest family firms in Essex that they conducted last year, there will be features from some of the oldest family firms in the county, resources to address some of the unique issues facing family firms across the county and plenty of tools, webinars, podcasts and articles on all things family business such as succession, governance, heritage, legacy and a whole lot more besides.

As Paul Andrews, CEO and Founder of Family Business United, explained: “Family firms are at the heart of all that we do, championing a sector that comprises family firms in all sectors, of all sizes and generations which cumulatively make a huge difference across Essex each and every day. Family firms deserve to be recognised for all that they do in terms of jobs provided, income generated and wealth created, not forgetting the impact they have through their charitable endeavours in communities across the county. The new Essex Family Business Hub provides a focal point for the sector and we look forward to supporting more family firms with a growing body of relevant resources too.”
James Boustead , Director at Rickard Luckin , commented: “We’re thrilled to sponsor FBU’s bespoke resource centre for the Essex family business community. Essex is blessed with a vast array of great family-owned businesses, including a number that we are proud to have as our longstanding clients. These family businesses are at the heart of the Essex economy and are central to the communities in which they operate. As those that work within family-owned businesses know, while it can be a hugely rewarding experience, it comes with some additional challenges. The business and family roles can sometimes overlap and emotions can interfere with sound decision-making. Professional advisers who understand the particular characteristics of family businesses can make all the difference.”

As Paul concludes: “We are delighted to support the community of family firms across Essex and encourage them to take a look at the hub, share their news stories and get involved. This is the next phase in our ongoing support and development of resources for family firms across Essex and we look forward to working with Rickard Luckin on this exciting initiative and thank them for their ongoing support.”
