Lee Styles is an Associate in our Small Business Team (SBT). In his role, he provides support to both companies and individuals in a wide range of tax services.

Lee is head of the owner-managed business tax section. He specialises in off-payroll working (IR35) and the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), but is able to offer extensive guidance and support in:

  • Capital Gains Tax (CGT) for both business and non-business assets
  • Personal and corporate tax planning
  • Incorporation tax planning
  • Succession planning
  • Corporate restructuring
  • Residency status
  • Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT).

Lee is committed to building lasting relationships with all of our clients, understanding both their individual and business needs to identify opportunities and support them in achieving their overarching goals.

Clients have commented on Lee’s ability to stand in their shoes to fully understand the requirement of both the individual and business holistically and how that fits within their wider family or business interests. Lee has the ability to explain and apply complicated technical legislation in a way that makes sense to the individual so they have a clear understanding of any tax planning and tax compliance before implementing.

Working with businesses

Lee has worked with a number of businesses, ranging from start-up sole traders to established companies and partnerships. He adopts a pro-active approach and will always look to ensure that his clients are able to identify opportunities that benefit them and their families as a whole.

Working with individuals

Lee supports clients in managing their finances in the most tax-efficient way possible. He understands that no two clients are the same, so he seeks to provide a tailored service based on recommendations and advice with their individual needs in mind. Lee enjoys meeting with the clients and key individuals face-to-face in both formal and informal settings to really get to know the client and what drives them, believing that most opportunities are discovered not focusing on any one aspect of either the business or individual.

Lee joined us in 2015; prior to this, he was a Tax Manager at a boutique practice in Leigh-on-Sea. His experience at this firm gave him exposure to all direct and indirect taxes applied to wide range of clients from sole traders to multinational groups, which in turn gave him exposure to a huge variety of planning opportunities and key compliance issues that arise through various industries.

Outside of work, Lee is kept busy with his family and when he is not supporting his two boys in their own sporting pursuits, enjoys playing hockey and golf himself.
