Due diligence support service

07/07/2022

Over the years we have assisted many academy clients with due diligence procedures relating to schools transferring in and out of trusts. With the ongoing developments and consolidations across this sector, this is becoming a more regular request.

We are therefore pleased to advise that we have a formal service offering available for both existing and new clients to support the process of schools moving in and out of academy trusts.

Our experienced Education Team is passionate about helping academy trusts complete the necessary due diligence in a professional and stress-free way. We provide a bespoke assurance report with the required information that will enable the Board to make informed decisions that benefit the future of the academy trust.

Services we can provide:

  • Scrutinise forecasts for accuracy and potential weaknesses in estimates
  • Review of systems to confirm adequate procedures are in place
  • Comparison of budgets v actuals for assurance of financial acumen of the new school
  • Investigate laws, policies and regulations to ensure they are being followed correctly
  • Analysis of assets held in the balance sheet to establish if they are appropriately valued
  • Identification of any process gaps or changes that will need to be considered between different control and financial systems and processes.

Whilst many of the requirements for due diligence will be similar, no two schools or trusts are the same.  We will work with you to tailor the work specifically to your needs and requirements and work alongside your Board where any existing experience or skills can be utilised to oversee some aspects of the work.
